What's in a Name?
If you noticed in the title, you will see that the name of Children's Church has changed. The Nurture Committee voted at its last meeting to change the name to Treasure Seeker's Children's Church. In the early part of the last century, we had a Bible Class at JM by that name, and passing on the name to Children's Church seemed perfect.

Sign up to Lead Children's Church (IMPORTANT)
The secretary/inside sales lady in Steve's business zone always decorates her emails with large print, bold script and loud colors in an effort to make people listen to her. It really annoys Steve. Thought I would give it a try -- although I don't mean to be annoying -- I just need more people to sign up for Children's church, so I thought I would point that out with BOLD print and RED type. Is it working?

Anyway, it's that time of the year again. It's time to work on the schedule for the next few months. I've been trying to come up with a way to make this simple -- other than me carrying around a piece of paper and chasing you around the church (which might be simple for you, but would not be for me -- I hate it when people hide from me). I've set up a blog (now, this is going to be fun!). Go here -- http://jmchildren.blogspot.com -- and you will find the current schedule through June. If you go to the bottom of the schedule, you will find a "comment" link. Click on that, check out the other comments that people have made volunteering to lead Children's church, and then add your own comment, telling me when YOU would like to lead. This has the advantage of allowing you to see the schedule as well as any additions from other volunteers. As I can, I will continue to update the schedule and delete comments, to keep it all streamlined. Let's try this and see how it works. If you just can't make this happen, send me an email with a date, and I'll add you in. Otherwise, I'll be chasing people around church with the schedule. Please don't hide.

Kids KlubKids Klub is scheduled to sing in church on November 20, and the Kids Klub Christmas program will be December 4 during the second worship service. No Children's church on that day.

Christmas Ornaments
After the Kids Klub program on December 4, there will be a reception for the children in the parlor sponsored by the Celebration Committee. Be sure and support our kids by attending the worship service and then coming to the reception to tell them how wonderful they are :-). Following the reception, in an act of synergy (defined as two things working together to produce an effect greater than the sum of their individual effects) the kids will be decorating the parlor Christmas tree with ornaments that they will make in Children's Church on November 27 under the leadership of Michelle. Here's hoping that we will all be synergistic.

Attendance
I have been trying to track attendance at Kids Klub, and it looks like we are averaging more than 10 children per Sunday. This is an increase over the summer. On October 16, when the Kids Klub sang in church, Debbie and Ben had between 12 and 14 children. Really sounds good to me.

Email address correction -- One more time
I can't seem to get Melody's email address correct. Let's try one more time. Please correct on your list Melody's address to (email address removed -- contact me if you need it). How about a plug? The domain part of Melody' address is "Children's Home Society of West Virginia" where she is the regional director in our part of the state. Check out the web page (http://www.childhswv.org).

Updated Schedule
The schedule for the following two months is as follows --

November 6 -- Debbie
November 13 -- Vicky (Thanksgiving material to be written)
November 20 -- Jeff
November 27 -- Michelle
December 4 -- Children's Program -- No Children's church
December 11 -- Lee
December 18 -- Jeff (Christmas material to be written)
December 25 — Christmas — no Children’s Church

Remember, the web page (http://www.geocities.com/jmadvent/children) is always kept up to date, and you can always check there for the latest information.

Thanks again
